Charleston Harbor Sunset Sailing Cruises
Charleston, SC the "Holy City" dating back into the 1600's Charleston, having over 400 area churches, rightly earned this namesake. The skyline is dominated by steeples, due to strict building ordinances to ensure no structure disrupted this historic aesthetic of steeples across the skyline. Charleston Harbor has been a center piece of American history as the most critical port in colonial North America and remains as part of Charleston's culture. Our public and private Charleston Harbor sunset sailing cruises allow you to experience these relics of history on a relaxed and vibrant sailing cruise with the living water color painting that is the sunset behind the silhouette of the Holy City's skyline.
What To Expect On Your Charleston Harbor Sunset Cruise
Your entrance into the evening begins at Shem Creek, one of Charleston's most beloved waterfront destinations, packed with restaurants, bars and that unmistakable Lowcountry energy. Arrive early and grab a drink and something to eat at Water's Edge before you board. Once aboard the Palmetto Breeze, you can pick your spot on the deck complete with seating, order your favorite cocktail from the ice cold, stocked pay bar (cards only,) kick back on your two hour cruise and enjoy the beauty and history of the Charleston Peninsula and its unique skyline. As we sail into Charleston Harbor the skyline opens up, Fort Sumter, the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the USS Yorktown and the glowing steeples of the Holy City all come into full view as the sun drops behind the peninsula. Dolphins make frequent appearances. The music is right. The drinks are cold. Two onboard restrooms, spacious cushioned seating, open-air deck, panoramic views. This is two hours on the water the way it was meant to be done. You'll return to the heart of Shem Creek where you can seamlessly continue your evening activities uninterrupted. We can't think of a better way to greet the night, which is why the Palmetto Breeze was voted Charleston Magazine's 2026 "Best Of" list.
A. Ravenel Jr Bridge
Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge, the longest cable-stay bridge in North America stretches 2.7 miles across the Cooper River and dominates the Charleston skyline. As the sun drops behind it, no camera in the world does it justice.
Fort Sumter
The first shots of the Civil War were fired here on April 12, 1861. Standing on the deck of the Palmetto Breeze, you're sailing the same waters that witnessed the moment that changed American history forever.
USS Yorktown
A decorated WWII aircraft carrier that survived kamikaze attacks in the Pacific now sits permanently docked at Patriots Point, close enough from the water that her sheer scale stops conversation mid-sentence.
